    T. Johnson Ross, Jr, M.D. ross

    I was born in Durham, N.C. where I attended highschool before gong to college at Duke. After medical school at Wake Forest and internship at Grady Memorial hospital, I became a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corp where I served as a general medical officer at Brooke General Hospital in San Antonio, Texas from 1965 until 1967. Then after completing my surgery and urology residency at Emory, I moved to Clearwater with my wife, Carolyn, and three children where I have been in the private practice of urology since 1971. I have been on the medical staff of Morton Plant Hospital beginning in 1971 and on staff at Largo medical center since opening in the 1980's. After becoming Board Certified in Urology in 1974, I became a member of the American College of Surgeons. I was one of the founders of the Bay Area Renal Stone Center (BARSC) in 1986 which brought the first Lithotriptor for treating kidney stones to the west coast of Florida. Also I am past president and currently medical director of BARSC. I have been active in the Florida Urological Society and am honored to be the current president of our society for 2008-2009. It has been and continues to be my privilege and pleasure to live and practice urology in our wonderful community. I have had extensive experience in all aspects of general urology.
