    Prostate Biopsy

    Office procedure, Occasionally Outpatient surgery

    Diet:

    You may resume your normal diet immediately. If you have general anesthesia or outpatient surgery, you may return to your normal diet within 48 hours following surgery. Consult with your doctor.

    Activity:

    For the 1st 24 hours, reframe from heavy lifting or exercise. After 24 hours you may resume normal activity. If you see blood in the urine, bowel movement or semen, do not be alarmed. Drink plenty of fluids, six to eight glasses per day until clear.

    Medication:

    You will be given an antiobiotic which you should take. Usually no post op pain medication is required. You may resume your pre operative medication immediately. Ask your doctor when you can resume aspirin, plavex, ibuprofen, coumadin, fish oil and vitamin E.
