Advanced Treatment Procedures
Office-based procedures for enlarged prostate:
We provide minimally invasive therapies for treatment of enlarged prostate (BPH) in men which are non-surgical, office based procedures that are safe and effective for treating symptoms associated with enlarged prostate. Most people resume normal activities within 24 hours. To learn about these procedures:
- Prostiva Transurethral Needle Ablation of the Prostate (TUNA® Therapy)
- Transurethral Microwave Treatment (TUMT)
- Prostiva (See www.coretherm.com)
Office-based procedures for urological incontinence:
- Collagen injections
- Renessa
Outpatient hospital-based treatment of prostate enlargement:
We also provide a hospital-based minimally invasive procedure that is safe and effective:
Holmium laser prostate resection (HoLAP)
Outpatient surgical procedures for incontinence in male patients
(such as after a radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer):
- InVance™ male sling
- Artificial urinary sphincter (AMS800™)
Overactive bladder treatment:
For those with overactive bladder symptoms not responsive to traditional medical therapy, we provide:
- InterStim® therapy for urinary control
Laparoscopic nephrectomy and partial nephrectomy:
For patients with kidney tumors or diseases requiring surgical removal of the kidney we have expertise in laparoscopic nephrectomy and partial nephrectomy. We use state of the art technology and skills to remove the kidney (or a small part of the kidney) through several small punctures in the abdomen providing cure rates equivalent to traditional open surgery but with a fraction of the recovery time and significantly less pain and shorter hospital stay.
Robotic assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (DaVinci prostatectomy):
If your urologist recommends surgery to treat your prostate cancer, you may be a candidate for a new, less invasive approach to surgery called da Vinci Prostatectomy. This approach to prostatectomy provides access to the internal anatomy through five small incisions. The surgeon is empowered to perform a very precise, nerve-sparing operation with the DaVinci® Surgical System. For the patient, da Vinci Prostatectomy may result in more complete eradication of cancer, retention of bladder control and potency.
Theralogix®
Theralogix® nutritional supplements are recommended for use under the supervision of your urologist or other health care provider. After reviewing your medical history, results of your physical exam and lab tests, any pertinent family history and the current medications you are taking, your health care provider can determine whether regular use of a Theralogix® nutritional supplement makes sense for you. Theralogix® supplements are evidence-based, which means that their formulation has been approved by our Medical Advisory Board after detailed review of the most recently published scientific data. Once you order a Theralogix® supplement, your referring health care provider will receive a notification to place in your medical record. This will allow your treating health care provider to monitor you for side effects, interactions, and response to treatment.
